I have found another platform that we have trialled, which has more functionality in terms of assessing data and more differentiation for individual pupils.

Herman Padam found conquermaths:
  • Does not significantly improve attainment

Used conquermaths for 8yrs + at a guess

Apr 2019

See the comment that I made and which I believe you have as a quote on your 'teacher' page.

Lindy Wood found conquermaths:
  • Significantly improves attainment
Consistent high level results taking all children individually to their potential - that being much higher than their 'expected' level.
  • Significantly improves teaching efficiency and productivity
There is no way that I could teach/mark a class efficiently in all the areas and to all the levels that they presently achieve - nor could the children produce the amount of work as successfully as they do through Conquer Maths - their files are bulging!
  • Significantly reduces teacher workload
See previous answer - not a hope of marking the amount of work the class presently produce.
  • Slightly provides school data
only effect on school data is that the children perform better in tests and these results are reflected in the school data
  • Slightly improves school processes
Not sure what is meant by this.

Used conquermaths for Approxiately 5 years

Apr 2019

We have found it to be a good program in school and are extending the use of the program from Year 4 to Year 6 instead of Year 5 and Year 6.

Teresa Lemon found conquermaths:
  • Significantly improves attainment
Pupils who have experienced difficulties have used the program and revise a previous year group. This has encouraged them to practise using the different exercises on a regular basis. Other pupils have used the program at home and taken challenges of a year ahead of them. There has been improvement from both groups.
  • Significantly improves teaching efficiency and productivity
Reinforces some of the concepts covered in class. The pupils enjoy working through new topics.
  • Slightly reduces teacher workload
The programs can reinforce what has been learned in class. It also gives the pupils the material to revise. When it used in the classroom it definitely reduces the workload.
  • Does not significantly provide school data
The school set their own check-ups and have external examinations for secondary school transfer. The pupils like to count their certificates.
  • Significantly improves school processes
Some topics are well covered in conquer maths and provide additional teaching material.

I find it very user friendly, can be used individually with the areas of Maths broken down into smaller chunks to build a foundation in knowledge. Very easy video tutorials which give a great visual/verbal representation of mathematical processes.

Andrew King found conquermaths:
  • Moderately improves attainment
Students progress at their own pace and are able to cover the foundations in areas of Maths in which they are weakest.
  • Moderately improves teaching efficiency and productivity
Students are able to move on in their own time, focusing on areas in which they are weakest to build knowledge and confidence.
  • Slightly reduces teacher workload
Looking through each pupils progress still takes a small amount of time as well as setting tasks based on weaker performances. We use ConquerMaths to supplement their current education in students free time (after school).
  • Slightly provides school data

Heidi Hersant

Coordinator of Mathematics

Metropolitan School Frankfurt, Germany

Used conquermaths for 3 years

Apr 2019

Our maths program has several components including projects or inquiry based learning as well as skill development which is necessary for inquiry. The ConquerMaths is an additional platform for students to practice what is learned in the lesson and is a natural venue for the generation that loves computers. The students have books and worksheets and the ConquerMaths is yet another tool so at the end of the day, the student has multiple learning strategies and can be successful. The students also can go back and revise with ease become confident with immediate feedback which is so important in maths. Parents are also pleased to have something to monitor progress and time spend learning which is clearly tracked.

Heidi Hersant found conquermaths:
  • Significantly improves attainment
Students are able to achieve high marks on tests which comes from the additional practice on ConquerMaths. Students are able to revise easily and gain more experience with topics from the lesson.
  • Significantly improves teaching efficiency and productivity
Students have another venue for learning or for complementing the classroom teaching. Students who are ill always have an option to stay up to date with the lessons.
  • Slightly reduces teacher workload
I use the program to complement learning and teaching . The results of their work are just like homework, they do not have an impact on their overall mark. The results are more for parents and the students to have immediate feedback before a classroom assessment.
  • Significantly provides school data
Our scores on standard tests have increased since the program started.
  • Moderately improves school processes
The program facilitates dialogue with parents and provides all parents especially those student parents who are struggling, a viable strategy.
